Make sure you have a credit/debit card handy.By RoadGetting to Le Chatelard is extremely easy with France’s superb road system. The drive down is very straight forward and is all motorway except the last 30mins as you drive up into Les Bauges and Le Chatelard. A ballpark figure for the cost of this option is around £350 so it can work out cheaper depending on numbers and length of stay. For a route plan click here. From Step 13. it is clearer to follow the Flydrive directions from “Take Exit 15?.Whilst it can be done in 7hrs 30min – allow 9 hours with comfort breaks and lunch from Calais. Ferries are available at least hourly from P&O and SeaFrance.Winter SkiGeneva is superb in winter although some of you might want to check out Snowjet as they fly direct to Chambery (45mins to us) and have some all inclusive deals with ski gear etc..Grenoble is also easy for access only 90mins away with Ryanair, Easyjet, Bmibaby.By RailYou can travel by day, taking Eurostar to Paris, crossing Paris by Metro, then a high-speed TGV to Chambery, or overnight, taking Eurostar to Paris, crossing Paris by Metro, then taking an overnight train with couchettes.
