Rothesay can be reached via the main Caledonian MacBrayne ferry port from Wemyss Bay, around 50 minutes from Glasgow. This crossing takes around 35 minutes and sailings are frequent. There is also another port on the other side of the island which can be reached via Colintraive. This is a shorter crossing of around 5 minutes and can be reached by road through the Rest and Be Thankful area.
