Leave the A1 at Junction 49, turning onto the A168

After approximately 10 miles, turn off the A168 following signs for A170 (to Scarborough)

After ascending Sutton Bank (gradient 1:4) continue along the A170 for 4 miles, then

Turn right, signposted Ampleforth

Ignore the next right turn to Wass

After half a mile turn right (no signpost) down a single track road and continue for 1 mile

At the T-junction turn left down the hill into Ampleforth (200 metres)

Ford End is on the right at the bottom of the hill

The Annexe B&B is accessed from the drive alongside the stream

Once you have unloaded your car, please park on the street to allow access.

FROM HELMSLEY

Leave Helmsley on the A170 to Malton and Thirsk and follow for 1.5 miles, then

Turn left onto B1257 to Malton and stay on road for nearly a mile, after which

Turn right onto ‘Beacon Bank’ (signposted Ampleforth)

Follow this road up to the top of the hill (the ‘Beacon’) and down to a T junction

Turn right into the village and continue past the White Swan (on left), Village Shop (on right), White Horse (on right)

Ford End is on the right at the bottom of the hill

The Annexe B&B is accessed from the drive alongside the stream
