Comment s'y rendre

It is VERY easy to get from the Airport in Cancun to Isla Mujeres, and then to our home. Here are the basics below. But if you decide to come and you rent our home, we would be happy to help you contact Javier to pick you up at the airport and then return you to the airport upon your departure. It is also SAFE. We live on the island part-time, and we fly back and forth from Colorado to Cancun and Texas regularly. Cancun's airport now has 4 terminals that are relativrly small, and VERY easy to navigate. If you book your transportation from the airport to the boat dock with AGI, they will be waiting for you right outside customs with your name on a sign. Easy-peasy!

OK, so here you go: Fly into Cancun International Airport. Then we suggest you book round trip transportation with AGI Tours (Javier Gonzales is the owner and he is amazing - and he speaks English and Spanish) to get you from the airport to Gran Puerto/Puerto Juarez ferry Terminal. (You want to do this at least 2 days before your scheduled flight). It is about a 30 minute ride from the airport. Once you get to Gran Puerto, you go inside to the ticket office on your right and purchase round trip tickets on Ultra Mar, which is the passenger ferry that goes to Isla Mujeres. Ultra Mar runs every 1/2 from about 6am to midnight, but make sure to get a schedule from them or look it up online. It takes 20 minutes on Ultra Mar to get to the island. Once there, any taxi driver can take you to our home, or we can give you the name an number of our taxi driver who we use, and he will meet you at the bot and take you to our home (about a 15 minute drive). Boom... you are there!

If you are flying out of Denver, we suggest using Frontier Airlines. They have direct flights every day, and are usually the best priced.

From Colorado, it is a 3 hour and 45 minute flight. From Dallas or Austin, it is approx 2 hours.

Southwest Airlines also has great rates from Dallas or Austin or San Antonio to Cancun.

Déplacements

The island is only a little over 4 miles long, so it makes getting just about anywhere a breeze! Golf carts are a popular way to get about, as are mopeds bicycles and taxi's. If you rent a golf cart we suggest you try renting from Coco's or Pepe's first. And remember you get a better deal if you pay in USD, and you get a better deal if you rent it for several days or a week at a time. Golf cart rentals (depending upon the time of year) run between $30usd and $80-usd per day. You can also rent a car at the Cancun airport, and bring it over on the car ferry. Believe it or not, it is fairly easy driving in Mexico, and it it very easy to get to Punta Sam where the car ferry is from the airport.
