A car is recommended if you wish to self-tour the park. Otherwise, options are available for guided day tours into Yellowstone. Allow a minimum of two full days to see the park by guided tour, or more for self-touring if you wish to spend more time in the area, hiking, exploring, etc. The West Yellowstone Airport (Airport code WYS) is approximately 1 mile from town and it is possible to rent a vehicle from this location (advance reservations necessary!) or hire a taxi to bring you into town.
