The closest airport is Region de Murcia International Airport which is approx 25 km away and about a 20 minute drive. This newly built airport has increasing numbers of flights from the main UK regional airports and other European hubs. Definitely worth checking out to see if you can fly there.
Alicante (90 km, 50 minute drive) is still by far the easiest to access from the UK and other European airports with at least one daily flight from the main hubs, and is served by all the main budget and chartered carriers. A short hop down the Autopisto Mediterreano 7 (AP-7) and you'll be in Roda Golf.

Déplacements
I'd recommend hiring a car to get around. This will allow you to explore and enjoy the whole of the surrounding area, as well as being able to get to and from the airport and the shops for those essentials. From Roda Golf, a bus to and from Los Alcazares runs in evenings during high season. If you are dining or going out in town this is a great option to have. Please check with resort management for more details on this. Taxis are available also and are extremely well priced. Within walking distance of the apartment are the Roda Clubhouse bar and restaurant, as is the charming village of Roda with a small well stocked supermarket and family friendly eateries. Check out Campbells and Roda Bar for steaks and tapas respectively.
